Rise Up for Autism and APEX Hospice and Palliative Care join forces to bring children and the elderly together in a means that enhances the lives of both groups of individuals, Hospice Heart Pals. “Kindness knows no boundaries.”
October 31, 2024: The two agencies announce their first shared project. Hospice Heart Pals: an art project designed to encourage the children of Rise Up for Autism to develop their creativity in a way that will bring a smile and enhance a day in the lives of end-of-life patients.
The nurses of APEX Hospice provided the children with names, hobbies and interests of their hospice patients. In November, at each of the Rise Up Care Centers, the children will present their art for each nurse’s patients to the nurses. The nurses will then present the art to their patients and take pictures of the patient with their art.
“We are excited about the synergy between our two organizations, both agencies providing an important service to individuals at different areas and times in their lives. This project reflects the compassion of each organization, while enhancing the quality of life through meaningful activities for the children and those patients at the receiving end,” states Shelley Cartwright, CEO – APEX Health Services.
Dr. Carly Lapin, CEO-Rise Up for Autism shares, “We are thrilled to embark on this meaningful partnership with APEX Hospice and Palliative Care. This project beautifully aligns with our shared mission to enhance the quality of life for individuals in our community. Together we are fostering connection and compassion, showing that kindness knows no boundaries.”
We invite the media to view and share this heartwarming event with others in the communities in which we serve. It will encourage other companies to come together for the betterment of connection and compassion.
