Human Resources Manager — APEX Hospice and Palliative Care

Diane Lococo is a seasoned Human Resources leader with more than 15 years of experience strengthening people operations, employee relations, and organizational strategy across healthcare and education. She currently serves as the Human Resources Manager at APEX Hospice and Palliative Care, where she oversees HR strategy, talent development, and workforce operations that support a compassionate, patient-centered care environment.

In her role at APEX, Diane partners closely with senior leadership to advance organizational goals, enhance employee engagement, and maintain compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements. She leads talent acquisition, onboarding, retention programs, while championing a supportive culture that empowers teams to deliver high-quality hospice and palliative care services.

Prior to joining APEX, Diane spent seven years as Human Resources Manager at Ascension Saint Alexius Hospital, a 320-bed critical care facility serving more than 1,500 associates. There, she guided HR strategy through major organizational changes — including the AMITA Health joint venture dissolution — while overseeing workforce planning, employee relations, and regulatory compliance. Under her leadership, the organization achieved an 18% reduction in staff turnover through targeted retention and engagement strategies.

Diane’s background also includes roles as Externship Coordinator and Senior Employment Advisor at Westwood College’s O’Hare campus, where she directed HR functions for more than 100 faculty and staff, as well as Practice Manager at Resurrection Health Care, where she led HR, payroll, and operational workflows for a busy medical office.

She brings extensive experience in labor relations, HR compliance, and process optimization, with proficiency across major HR systems.  Her strengths include strategic planning, leadership development, policy design, conflict resolution, and data-driven decision-making.

Known for her collaborative leadership style and commitment to elevating the employee experience, Diane continues to drive HR strategies that support organizational excellence, strengthen team culture, and ensure high-quality care delivery across the hospice and palliative care continuum.
